Is there a new standard that is going to replace ISO 9001:2000? If so, does anybody know when?

From what I understand to this point, the final version has not been approved. It is supposed to be completed by the end of this year. One year after it is published, all new certification or recertifications will be for the 2008 revision. Two years after publication, the 2001 revision will most likely not be valid.

There doesn't seem to be much reason for concern. After taking a couple glances, there doesn't seem to be major changes.
